1985.219 National Color Unknown v2p444
148th Infantry, Second National Color. Composed of men from Centre, Clarion, Jefferson, and Indiana counties, the 148th was organized in early September 1862 and led by Colonel James A. Beaver. The 148th was mustered out of service on June 3, 1865. The history of this flag is undocumented. At one point, it was mis-identified as belonging to the 118th PA.

1985.267 Regimental Color W. F. Scheible v2p444
148th Infantry, Regimental Color. Composed of men from Centre, Clarion, Jefferson, and Indiana counties, the 148th was organized in early September 1862 and led by Colonel James A. Beaver. The 148th was mustered out of service on June 3, 1865. The regimental color was apparently carried side-by-side with the state color throughout the war.

1985.268 National Color Unknown v2p443
148th Infantry, First National Color. Composed of men from Centre, Clarion, Jefferson, and Indiana counties, the 148th was organized in early September 1862 and led by Colonel James A. Beaver. The origin of the first national color is undocumented, but it most likely was obtained to replace the captured state color in late summer/early fall 1864. The flag was carried throughout the remainder of its term of service. The 148th was mustered out of service on June 3, 1865.
